The server does it's thing, your device does it's thing, everything is supposed to be peachy, but some people are hacking that client-side storage and/or memory related to the game. That means when your device puts it into memory so that your processor can actually play the game you could essentially, through hacking, have access to and manipulate this information that your device is responsible for. On client/server games certain information is stored on your device.
That means some games can be cheated and some can't. There are local stored games, server stored games, and client/server games where information is stored both on the server and your device.įor multiplayer games, only two of the types exist for the most part. I'll be talking about mobile games specifically but this applies to all platforms too. Hopefully this article will deter people from even trying. Not too technical, but enough to have a general idea of what's happening.
